It depends on one's personnality I think.
If it's somebody with a strong will, then homeschooling should be fine.
Even when he feels like being lazy, his strong will would put him back on the right path and study well at home.
On the contrary, if it's somebody who is sluggish or gets easily tempted, he has to be forced to study. That means, he'll do better in school!
...By the way, I'm the second type, so go team school! ^^;
Being a lazy slug myself, I need a teacher to check on my work and, therefore, go to school^^;
Also, I think school is a great place to learn about social interaction and make children step out of their comfort zone.
For further help, parents should help their children with their homework and check their lessons.
Definitely school! People shouldn't limit their studies, that's what happen in home schooling. They don't learn how to deal with people. But in some cases, like if the person is too busy to go to school, home schooling might be good for them.
I can understand why people might choose homeschooling: it's less work and you can do things at your own pace. Public school is slow and full of meaningless assignments (busywork). However, I think without the social skills you learn in public school, children are doomed.
